Stainless steel sterilization filter

The HR series sterile filter is engineered in compliance with German-equivalent product standards, utilizing precision 304 or 316 stainless steel sanitary housings. Both internal and external surfaces undergo fine mechanical polishing for enhanced smoothness and hygiene. The unit is available with clamp or flange connections and features a standard working pressure rating of 1.0 MPa, making it suitable for sterile filtration applications involving compressed air and various process liquids.

Dual O-ring seals—constructed from silicone rubber or fluororubber—ensure complete containment of the gas stream, directing 100% of flow through the filter media without bypass.

The filter element incorporates a high-temperature-resistant polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) membrane supported by a robust stainless steel core, delivering a precise filtration rating of 0.01 μm. It is capable of withstanding repeated sterilization cycles using clean steam at temperatures up to 140°C. After multiple sterilizations, the filter achieves complete (100%) retention of bacteria, viruses, and bacteriophages, ensuring absolute sterility.

This performance enables the HR series to fully satisfy stringent process requirements across industries such as food, biotechnology, beverages, beer production, pharmaceuticals, and electronics manufacturing.

Small-sized sterile filters are commonly designed with a cross-hanging configuration featuring horizontal inlet and outlet ports. For multi-element assemblies, a floor-standing unit design is available.

Depending on application needs, the filtration system can be configured as a combination of pre-filters and fine filters.

Airflow must enter from outside to inside through the filter element, following the arrow direction marked on the housing label.

Compressed air supplied to the sterile filter requires mandatory passage through at least three stages of precision filtration and a dryer. This process must remove oil, water, and dust contaminants, with oil mist concentration maintained below 0.01 ppm. Failure to meet these conditions will compromise both filter longevity and sterilization efficacy.

Regular sterilization is essential—typically performed once or twice weekly or monthly based on usage frequency. Each sterilization cycle lasts 30 minutes and employs clean saturated steam with 1 μm filtration accuracy. Steam temperature must remain under 140°C, and pressure should be kept below 0.3 MPa. Valves require slow, deliberate operation, and the process needs dedicated monitoring.

The sterile filter element must be replaced after completing 50 steam sterilization cycles or when the differential pressure reaches 0.07–1.0 MPa.

Custom orders are accepted for sterile filters requiring higher flow rates and operating pressures.
